Laptop Keyboard Replacement
Laptop keyboards face constant use every day. Normal wear and tear is common, and small accidents like water or coffee spills can quickly make things worse. Keys may come loose, stop responding, or type the wrong characters. Sometimes the entire keyboard becomes unresponsive.
When this happens, it does not mean you need a new laptop. A keyboard replacement is often the simplest and most cost-effective solution. At Fix My Laptop Brisbane, we work with most makes and models. Our technicians can quickly replace faulty keyboards and get your laptop back in working order.

We provide keyboard replacements for most laptop makes and models. Most keyboards fail due to these common issues…
Broken or missing keys are a common problem. In many cases the buttons still work, but the key mechanism has snapped. If you have spare keys lying around and cannot reattach them, that is usually the reason. These clips are small and fragile, and once they break the key will not stay in place.
Another issue is when a key presses down and does not spring back up. This happens when the rubber or silicone dome underneath is torn or damaged. It is not very common, but it can be repaired if both the dome and the key are in good condition. For well known brands, replacing the entire keyboard is often the cheaper option.
The most frequent problem is when keys still press but do not register. This fault comes from the electronic connection that detects the keystroke. In most laptops the whole keyboard needs to be replaced. Some designs require changing the entire palmrest, which increases the cost of the repair.
Liquid damage is another reason keyboards stop working. When water, coffee, or other liquids spill onto the laptop, the damage usually requires a full replacement. Repairs are rarely possible once the keyboard has been exposed to liquid.
