Update on Africa October 2009 Trip.

Fix My Laptop at Windor has donated 5 Dell Latitude D610 laptops to be taken to Africa to be donated to an orphange in Pertoria.

These orphans and vunerable children have very little in the way of personal possessions or the advantages that we take for granted. The computers were designed to assist the older orphans who were in secondary school and through disadvantage found it very difficult to “keep up” with other students.

For this reason the donation was very well received. Through its Director, Irene Heibloem, the laptops were hand delivered in the week of October 23rd~30th 2009.  On receipt of the donated laptops, Michael, the spokesman for the orphans said with tears in his eyes “thank you, thank you, thank you very much, you’ll never know how much we appreciate your generosity. Tell Phillip and the staff at Fix My Laptop we can never repay the debt of kindness we owe”.

Commenting on her ongoing work at the orphanage, Irene Heibloem said “As political and economic refuges from northern African countries these are amazing kids. Often they saw their own parents butchered and raped. I can’t get over how up-beat and positive they are in the face of having nothing and an uncertain future. What we do to help them may seem simple to us but to them its huge.”
