Fix My Laptop - Community Involvement
Fix My Laptop at Windor has donated 5 Dell Latitude D610 laptops to be taken to Africa to be donated to an orphange in Pertoria. These orphans and vunerable children have very little in the way of computers so the donation will be very well received. Through its Director, Irene Heibloem, the laptops will be hand delivered in the week of October 23rd~30th 2009. When asked about this Irene said "There will be excitement at the orphanage, especially the high school students who struggle to acheive at school. The gratitude of these kids will be overwhelming"
Fix My Laptop at Upper Mt Gravatt in conjuction with Laptops On The Run have pledged 2 laptop computers to be donated to the Samoan Tsunami Appear to be auctioned to raise money to aid the hundreds of families in Samoa who are homeless and in a sad state. In conjuction with Mr Niko Burgess of Runik Polynesian World of Inala, Qld, the co-ordinator of fund raising in the Samoan community in Brisbane, these laptops will help. In a radio interview on Switch 1197 on Sunday night, 4th October 2009, Mr Burgess accpeted the donation on behalf of the Samoan community.
